Axión to promote Hybrid Radio in Spain

Axión collaborates with the Spanish Association of Commercial Broadcasting (AERC), main radio broadcasters, network operators and manufacturers, in the promotion of Hybrid Radio in Spain.

On the 11th December, a conference organized by the AERC about Hybrid Radio was held in the auditorium of the Secretary of State for the Information Society and the Digital Agenda of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda. During the meeting, the advantages of this service and the potential of the mobile as a reception device were explained, showing such advantages for the user, broadcasters and communication operators.

The work day was initiated by the president of the AERC, Rafael Pérez del Puerto, who explained the main advantages of the service, among which he mentioned that the user does not consume data, battery saving, access to new services allowing the customization of specific contents and, in addition, it does not require expensive infrastructure, but rather the combination of the existing technologies in an appropriate way.

Coinciding with the celebration of this work day, Alfonso Nasarre, director of Radio Nacional de España, presented the collaboration agreement for the promotion of Hybrid  Radio in Spain and the constitution of a working forum in which Axión will participate, together with the AERC and the main players in the sector.

The forum will promote and transmit the concept and usefulness of Hybrid Radio, aimed to combine the best of radio and Internet, as well as the contribution to create in the users of mobile devices, the interest for having a radio receiver they can use at the time of acquiring a new device. Likewise, the new forum attempts to provide assistance on the technical, legal, industrial, economic and organizational aspects in relation to Hybrid Radio.
